UNAKOTI (SUBRAI KHUNG)

TRIPURA SUNDARI TEMPLE

NEER MAHAL(TWIJILIKMA NUYUNG)
Translation from the native language Twijilikma Nuyung is known to be the Lake Palace. Neer Mahal is a royal mansion build in the middle of the lake Rudrasagar. It is located 53 kilometres from the Capital City Agartala. It’s beauty is one to behold with scenery of water bodies surrounding the palace. It was built by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarman in 1930 as his summer palace, it has one of the finest incorporations of Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture and design. The palace has been made in marble and sandstone and is one of the largest palaces of its kind in the country.
UJJAYANTA PALACE(NUYUNGMA)
It was built by Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya in 1901. It was former Royal Palace of Tripura Kingdom. It is in the heart of the Capital City Agartala and is surrounded by serene Mughal gardens. The state museum is also available inside the palace. It has been the center of learning about the history of Tripura and royal family tree. Many students and foreign tourist can be seen visiting this palace to gain their historical knowledge as well as to enjoy the serene beauty of the palace.
DUMBOOR LAKE
Massive water bodies with breathtaking views to spend some of the vacation in this lake. Dumboor Lake is located in the Amarpur sub division, about 120 km away from the capital city of Agartala. JAMPUI HILLS
Located in the North Tripura District and is a border to neighboring state Mizoram, about 200km away from the Capital City, Agartala. Jampui Hills, situated at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters above sea level, stands as one of the highest hill ranges in Tripura. SIPAHIJALA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Searching to find a peaceful place where you can escape from the hustle city life, you can always go visit this sanctuary where many wild animals can be found and a beautiful greeneries to enjoy. There is also a small lake where boating can be done. Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Bishalgarh (Sepahijala District) which is around 25kms from Agartala.
It is spread across a large area (18.5 square kilometres). Visiting hours are from 8 in the morning to 4 in the evening with a weekly off on Friday.
COCONUT ISLAND( NERIKEL KUNJA)
This Island has become a center of tourist attraction. The island as derived from its name is filled with coconut all around the island giving a magnificent views to behold. This island stands in the lake of Dumboor, the largest water body in the state Tripura. The island has the facilities of accommodation where you can spend a night there. It is located in Gandacherra which is about 120kms away from the capital city. You can spend your time boat riding and so on. Most of Reang tribes will be found as the natives of the island.
MONTANG VALLEY(MOINMTANG VALLEY)
The origin of the valley name ‘Moinmtang’ means string of valley laying next to each other in Kau Bru. Bru tribe dwelt in this valley from past many generations and name this valley as ‘Moinmtang’. When this place came to the acknowledgement of an ADC Minister Kamal Kalai, He renovated the place and name it ‘Montang’ which is known to be ‘ Mountain Of Peace’. This valley came under Atharamura Hills under Teliamura Sub Division in Khowai District. It is located around 80 kilometres from the capital city Agartala, 30 kilometres from National Highway 8 (India) near Teliamura and is known for its floating clouds and scenic beauty. This Valley has become a tourist attraction point and many travelers have visited this place to enjoy the scenic beauty of this Vallley.
